Also, "alt.anything" does not exist on Eternal-September newsserver.
This suggests that it has not been properly newgrouped. I note that
the OP is by a TOR user on Paganini newsservice; perhaps rules are
less strict on that service.
Maybe they were proposing a new ng?
nah, it exists, I think I get it from Solani.
Then the OP should request it in e-s.grouprequests. If it's genuine
I'm pretty sure Ray would add it. In fact, I'll xpost this to there.

well, I don't know how "genuine" it is actually, but it doesn't seem to
be something recent. A current thread on there was started by an aioe

Let's just give it some defibrillator doses and maybe the parts that are
disturbing the serious tests in e-s.test can migrate over there.

There is also misc.misc, and I think years ago there
used to be a newsgroups simply called general.

Any group that isproposed here between 12/28/94 - 1/3/95 I WILL CREATE!
This is the time to get those newsgroups started that the alt.config
elitists would never start for you! ANYTHING proposed will be created
begining with my next logon.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

This was the original newgroup message. There was no Newsgroups file
line and no charter.

It was rmgrouped, in the days in which various people sent rmgroups
based on quality of discussion in alt.config (This had none) and quality
of the newgroup message (which was in poor form).

Note the resurrection newgroup message from the tomservo bot. These were
sent after rmgroups.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Note that this time the newgroup was sent with the moderation flag set.
That, of course, wouldn't have allowed anyone to post without a
moderator if it were created locally unless the News administrator
allowed self approval.

Another resurrection newgroup followed, again with the moderation flag
sent, with additional rmgroups.

Yeah, various people didn't take the making of newgroup proposals seriously
in alt, and other people came along to make things worse.

nah, it exists, I think I get it from Solani.
Then the OP should request it in e-s.grouprequests. If it's genuine
I'm pretty sure Ray would add it. In fact, I'll xpost this to there.
well, I don't know how "genuine" it is actually, but it doesn't seem to
be something recent. A current thread on there was started by an aioe
user (four years ago...)
Ah, apologies - it's probably my fault that that thread seems "current";
after someone mentioned that NG (here, I think) I took it out of
curiosity, and had responded (facetiously) to that aioe post before I
remembered that my newsreader brings in a lot of old posts when I take a
'group I haven't taken before.
